Concordia’s long-term care administration program earned a new accreditation that will ease the licensure process for graduates entering long-term care careers.

Clinics and hospitals are digitizing their files, utilizing new surgical technology, providing a new level of care to rural communities, streamlining their patient experiences, and keeping up with ever-changing regulations.
No matter the change, the heart of the profession remains the same: Help patients get the best method of care. The role of healthcare management and operations is central to this aim. Using specialized knowledge, healthcare administration professionals manage a variety of facilities including hospitals, clinics, and long-term care facilities.

Our new healthcare leadership minor is designed for health professions students who are interested in leadership or management opportunities in the future. The program also welcomes interdisciplinary students from other majors with an interest in the business of healthcare.

The minor in healthcare leadership offers students the opportunity to explore and gain leadership skills, a foundation in healthcare ethics, management principles, and effective communication. Through a blend of classroom learning, hands-on experiences, and opportunities for community engagement, students become introduced to healthcare leadership.
Tangible skills that students will learn include teamwork and collaboration, synthesis writing, critical thinking, and problem solving. Students will gain insight into the complicated dynamics of healthcare and begin to explore ways in which they can take an active role to influence change.
