Following the milestone 50th anniversary of the Concordia Corn Feed tradition, ×ö°®ÊÓƵ is announcing a new fall celebration designed to bring students, families, alumni, and friends together in a more student-centered experience. The new event, Cobber Fest, will debut on Sept. 6.
The Moorhead Corn Feed, which has served as a long-standing connection point for alumni and friends of the college, will be discontinued moving forward. Several alumni-led corn feeds across Minnesota, North Dakota, Montana, and Colorado will take place this summer. For more information about our alumni-hosted corn feeds, please visit .
While the decision marks the end of an era, college leaders say it reflects a deeper investment in aligning campus traditions with the current student experience.
“We are incredibly proud of the legacy of the Moorhead Corn Feed,” said Josh Lysne, vice president for Communications and Marketing. “For five decades, they’ve brought Cobbers together in celebration and community. But as we look to the future, we’re committed to creating experiences that center our students and strengthen the on-campus community.”
Unlike the Moorhead Corn Feed, which traditionally took place before students returned for the academic year, Cobber Fest will be held after students are back on campus, allowing them to fully participate in the festivities. The event will invite current students, their families, and regional alumni to campus for ice cream, music, games, and community celebration.
Cobber Fest will also lead into another exciting first for Concordia — a night football game under the new lights at Jake Christiansen Stadium, made possible by recent investments in the college’s athletic facilities. Enhancements include a new turf field, resurfaced track, and stadium lighting, all designed to enrich student life and fan experience.
“This is a new chapter for Concordia,” Lysne said. “We’re excited to welcome our community to campus for this new tradition and to cheer on the Cobbers under the lights.”
Cobber Fest and the inaugural night game will take place Saturday, Sept. 6.
